NEUROLOGICAL REHAB

What is neurological physiotherapy?

Neuro-physiotherapy is a very specialised area of physiotherapy which encompasses a plethora of conditions, diseases, and injuries. Neurological conditions are caused by damage to the nervous system, often as a result of illness and injury. Problems to the nervous system affect the brain, spinal cord, and the nerves and muscles in the body.

Neurological conditions are very unique in that no two people are the same, and although you can suffer from the same condition the effects of the condition can vary from person to person.

This is why a multidisciplinary multifactoral approach is necessary to achieve the optimum outcome for individuals with a neurological condition. Here at 4front Physiotherapy we have specialist physiotherapist's, occupational therapist's, and therapy assistants who can help you or your family member improve and achieve collaboratively set goals within their own setting or home environment. We have clients in various rehab/care home settings across east sussex which we supply current evidence based rehab to on a weekly basis.

Through recent research there is evidence that brain healing and physical improvements continues to take place long after the initail injury or incident. This is called neuro plasticity, where the brain reorganises the parts of the brain that recieves and generates signals in order to move, feel, and sense things. It allows the brain to be re-programmed and re-learn functions of the human body that had been lost due to the injury or incident.
