Sports Physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy which deals with injuries and issues related to sports people.

Sports injuries do differ to everyday injuries. Athletes normally perform with a level of high intensity and the demand placed upon their body stresses their muscles, joints and bones to the limit, sometimes causing traumatic or overuse injuries.

Our sports physiotherapist's help athletes and sports people by reliably diagnosing their problem, finding out the root cause to thier problem, provide them with the necessary treatment and education to help reduce their pain and minimise time out of sport. We also have the knowledge to modulate your sporting environment so we can help you to continue to compete and continue doing what you love. We give you resources and advice about the latest sports equipment and footwear, and help dispel any myths about equipment claims to aid performance or prevent injury. Physiotherapy is the leading profession in injury prevention. Here at 4front Physiotherapy we consider this at the very first appointment. After we have found what is driving your problem, we then look at short term movement pattern modulation techniques to relieve pain, as well as beginning longer term rehab to help prevent the injury from reoccuring once the problem has been successfully treated.

Each of our sports physiotherapists at 4front Physiotherapy has sport-specific knowledge in numerous sporting areas that addresses acute, chronic and overuse injuries. We offer sports physiotherapy services to sports men and women of all ages engaged in sports at any level. We have treated people from professional sports clubs and teams, professional individual athletes, semi-professional atheltes, grass roots athletes, amateur athletes, and those that play casually when they can.

Here at 4front Physiotherapy we have experience and knowledge of the latest evidence-based practice, we are skilled in our ability to reliably assess and diagnose sports injuries. We use effective 'hands-on' manual techniques and exercise therapy as treatment to help address your problem and prevent reoccurance. We also use video analysis with slow-motion software to identfy any functional muscle imbalances or biomechanical issues that the naked eye cannot pick up. This approach has helped so many athletes and sports people successfully return to sport, pain free and with confidence that reoccurance is very unlikely. We have also assisted people improve and optimise their performance at different levels. So contact us if you are in pain, cannot participate in your sport or just wanting advice and training to reach a new PB.
